So true lol

Back to the Hospital...

No worries though. There was a chemical spill at Grand River a few months ago and apparently my samples for the lab were not processed so I just had to re-pee in a cup and do a swab.

SPD

I think I have this:

*Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD)* is most commonly associated with pregnancy and childbirth. It is a condition that causes excessive movement of the pubic symphysis, either anterior or lateral, as well as associated pain, possibly because of a misalignment of the pelvis. SPD is a dysfunction that is associated with pelvic girdle pain and the names are often used interchangeably. It is thought to affect up to one in four pregnant women to varying degrees, with 7% of sufferers continuing to experience serious symptoms postpartum.
Symptoms:
The main symptom is usually pain or discomfort in the pelvic region. This will probably be centred on the joint at the front of the pelvis (the pubic symphysis). Some sufferers report being able to hear the lower back and hip joints, the sacroiliac, clicking or popping in and out as they walk or change position. Sufferers frequently also experience pain in the lower back, hips, groin, lower abdomen, and legs. The severity of the pain can range from mild discomfort to extreme and prolonged suffering. There have been links between SPD and depression on account of the associated physical discomfort. Sufferers may walk with a characteristic waddling gait and have difficulty climbing stairs, problems with leg abduction and adduction, pain when carrying out weight bearing activities, difficulties carrying out everyday activities, and difficulties standing.

Ouchie!

Dr. Som

So I had my first appointment with my naturopathic doctor, Dr. Som, since she had her baby in April. She checked my blood pursue and it was 104/74 :-) Gave her an update of how I've been feeling for the last couple of months. Although the appointment was kinda pointless it was nice to catch up with her!
Upcoming appointments:
Glucose testing: July 12
First Ob/Gyn appointment: July 17
...
Dr.Som: September 5

Officially Off Work!

Officially off work about 1 week and 2 days early. Went to work today and was having a hard time in the heat today. My classroom was hotter than it was outside and I felt like I could barely breathe. I asked my principal if she could find me a supply for the afternoon and I made an appointment with my doctor at the hospital. When I got there she decided to do my "July 3rd"check up today so she checked my urine (all was well!), blood pressure (110/something), baby's heartbeat (in the 150s) and weight (only gained 1.1kg since my last appointment!). She checked my lungs with her stethoscope and my long capacity which was both ok. She said I have the beginnings of Bronchitis and to stay inside while I was at work. She began to write me a note staying that I mustn't be outside. Then I told her that in a classroom with no air conditioning and 24 kids, it was hotter in my class than it was outside. She then decided to write me a note off with until next Friday, the last day of school and my birthday! A little bittersweet but it's what is safe for Ethan and I so I am happy.

Got to school today and my panties were irritating my tummy. What did I do? Cut the sides to make them fit better :-)

Joe Finally Felt Him!

Ethan was going crazy last night and kicking SO much! Joe came home from work and was determined to feel him. After *thinking* he felt him many times, Joe started kissing my tummy and BAM! Ethan kicked Joe right on the lips! It was so cute!

Steph's Wedding!

3 more weeks until my cousin's wedding. I have 2 dresses in mind: The first one belongs to Jen. The second one I wore to Steph's brother's wedding in 2006 lol. Although they are very similar, which one looks best?

So for the last few days I have officially been feeling Ethan's strong kicks. Sometimes they really surprise me! I'll be lying still on the click watching TV and BAM! Lol it's really amazing :-)

Sick :-(

So for the last week or so I've been suffering from some pretty nasty allergies. On top of that I've been dealing with an annoying sciatic nerve and sore feet. On Saturday, my sister, my mom and myself had plans to do some shopping in the states. My morning started off with a killer headache, backache and allergies. We went to Target first and I bought some Tylenol which seemed to help with my headache. As the day went on, I started feeling even worse: sweaty and feverish to freezing cold shivers and chills. Nodding off to sleep on benches outside the stores along with my sore body. I pretty much napped the whole way home from the border to my moms house. I was still feverish but was able to bring it down by taking Tylenol every 4 hours. Still feeling crappy today (Monday) I decided to see my doctor at the hospital. She said it looked like I had a viral infection, the beginning of an ear infection and a fungal infection in my ear! She wrote me off for the whole week and said I need to fully recover before being around the kids again. For the congestion symptoms, she prescribed me Diclectin, the same drug she prescribed for nausea at the first appointment which I never had to take. She suggested I buy some Hydrasense nasal spray and use it SIX times a day this week and then 3x a day until the baby is born to help with my allergies. She also suggested I use 2 drops of vinegar in my left ear to get rid of the vinegar. I have another appointment to see her on Thursday to make sure I am feeling better. I'll keep ya all posted!

Scrapbook Update!

Mommy and Daddy are getting married!

Ethan's name meaning:

As bub grows so does my belly...

Me at three different times throughout my pregnancy:

21 Week Appointment

After waiting for the doctor for an hour and a half, I finally got in. I've gained 4lbs since my last visit and she said it was good and that I'm gaining at a good pace. Baby's heartbeat was 155 and the results from the last ultrasound were great. My blood pressure was normal (120/something) but suggested I start drinking cranberry juice since my urine was a little acidic.

Upcoming appointments:
July 3rd - check up
July 12th - blood work to check for gestational diabetes
July 17th - first appointment with Ob/Gyn

Ethan is 21 Weeks Old!

Holy moly! Our baby is the size of a banana and should weigh just over a pound! Joe is pretty sure he felt Ethan kick tonight which is super exciting! We have a regular check up appointment on Tuesday where we will probably get some more info on last week's ultrasound :-)

Daddy bought Ethan bunny slippers :-)

Kisses for Ethan :-)
