Our Baby at 16 Weeks!

This is what our baby might look like...

Baby is the size of an avocado!

He/She has been poking me like crazy this weekend! More of a "poking" sensation now than a flutter or bubbles. Joe and Nicole are very convinced it's a boy... everyone else is thinking pink, lol. Only one more month until we find out!!! Going for the second part of my blood work tomorrow and our prenatal appointment at the hospital is next Tuesday. Went to the Baby Time Show today but wasn't too impressed. Got a few free samples and stuff but not much more. Got a subscription for Today's Parent for $15! Bought a breast-feeding pillow at Sears Warehouse for $19.99, regular price $59.99 so I am pretty happy about that. That's about it for today!!!

Just Waiting Part II

Back in February, just a few days after finding out I was pregnant I wrote the post "Just Waiting".
Looking back on it now, I feel like I need to write a new one, since it feels like I am always waiting for something! lol

Waiting for my 20 week ultrasound!
Waiting to to find out if we are having a mini Joe or a mini Kris.
Waiting to reveal the gender to our families in a fun way!
Waiting to look pregnant with a baby and not just pregnant with junk food, lol.
Waiting to feel baby move consistently.
Waiting for him/her to get their first hiccups!
Waiting to set up his/her temporary bedroom.
Waiting to do some gender specific shopping!
Waiting for my baby shower :)

Somersaults

Baby T had been doing some major somersaults all week. It's true what they say, the movements feel a lot like gas pains but for me they almost feel like a rolling pin, lol. Like Baby T is rolling over or doing somersaults, lol. I mostly feel them at night when I lay on my back. Sometimes I poke around my tummy to get him going, lol. I'm probably already annoying him, lol. Very cool feeling :-)

Education Class

Tonight Joe and I went to the hospital for a mandatory "education class". Pretty pointless got the most part, didn't tell me anything I didn't already know, besides that a pregnant woman is not supposed to eat chocolate?! Eff that! Lol. We did get a cute little stuffy though!
Upcoming Appointments"
April 30 - Part II of chromosomal abnormality scan
May 8 - 16 week check up
May 8 - Prebirth service registration
May 28 - Gender/Anatomy scan!

Bassinets?

So I found out today that there is no penalty the leave our lease early... we are actually responsible for paying our rent until our lease is up no matter what. Apparently, this is the case even if we fnd a place in the same complex which totally blows. This means that we need to try and make room for baby here and prepare for it to sleep in our room. We were thinking of not setting up our crib and just having the baby sleep in a bassinet beside the bed. We went to Babies R' Us to get an idea of what there is and this is what we saw:

Graco Travel Lite Crib - Barcelona Bluegrass - Graco - Babies"R"Us
This style is like a minature play pen with a bassinet on top

Jolly Jumper Moses Basket - Pebbles - Jolly Jumper - Babies"R"Us
Traditional bassinet which lays on a stand

Average size play pen with a small bassinet and changer on top of a full size bassinet.

Now, my question is, does anyone know which one would be most appropriate?
The first one was in the "bassinet" section of the store but did not seem practical to us since the playpen is sooooo tiny.
The second one is ok but it would be nice if we could utilize it in more than one way.
The third one seems most practical but my question is, are the bassinets appropriate for the baby to sleep in throughout the night? Check out the link to this product and let me know what you think... http://www.toysrus.ca/product/index.jsp?productId=3868109

I Have The Best Family!

My parents and sister came down today and they took us out for brunch at Angel's Diner. After that we went to Zellers. My mom told us a while ago that she would buy us our crib. The one we wanted was almost $300 at Walmart. Well, we found it at Zellers for $279 but it included the dresser and change table! They ended up also buying us a Safety 1st Travel System (includes carrier, car seat and stroller), Fisher Price high chair and Fisher Price swing! What a productive day! Thanks again guys! Xoxo

Depressed

I feel so fat these days :-( I look in the mirror and I feel like all my hard work is going down the drain. I know people say you have to gain weight when you're pregnant, I just feel like my face and my arms look horrible and that I shouldn't look like this, at least not yet. I'm going to try to go to the gym again this week, hope out helps.

Don't be afraid to leave me a message or comment! Even to those who check out my blog that I have not met yet! If you are also pregnant or have been pregnant, I'd love to hear your input!
Thanks!

I Work Out!

So just before I got pregnant I was going to the gym like crazy and eating really well. When I found out we were expecting, I told myself that I was going to try to keep up the lifestyle to make sure I didn't gain too much weight and help with a healthy pregnancy. Well my plan failed. The first 10 weeks of the pregnancy I was EXHAUSTED! I'd have my work out gear in the car but would drive right past the gym to go home and have a nap. Unfortunately, the eating healthy kinda went down the toilet too. For the longest time, the thought of cooking and eating meat and vegetables turned me off. All I want is carbs! Bread, crackers and pasta! I've been getting my protein through lots of dairy products; cheese, milk, eggs and yogurt. Also, I've been eating a lot of fruit.
WELL, today I made my return to the gym! Was a little nervous to begin but I did some reading before hand to make sure I didn't over do it. Just before I got to the gym I started having done mild round ligament pain. I started with 10 minutes on the stationary bike. Then I went to do some of the strength training machines. I usually put the weights at about 40-45 lbs. I started off just doing 15 lbs but more reps. I also sure not to do any exercises that included contracting my stomach muscles. After that I did 20 minutes on the treadmill lightly walking. I made sure to drink my water periodically as well. I really hope I can keep this up. I am going to try to go to the gym Mondays and Fridays after work. Then hopefully, increase it throughout the summer. I wish our apartment complex had a pool, lol. I'd really get some use out of it this summer.

Baby's First Scrapbook

So I have very little experience scrapbooking. I have tons of scrapbooking crap but only  got around to doing about 8 pages in my first scrapbook. I decided to start Baby T's scrapbook today. Here are some of the first pages :)
Enjoy!

Morning Sickness at 12 weeks?!

So throughout the whole pregnancy I have had small periods of nausea. Out ended around 10 weeks... Until this past Monday. Since Monday, I have been throwing up every morning :-(  Hope it ends soon!

Our Baby!!!

So I went for my physical this morning and they checked my weight, blood pressure, checked my urine, went over my blood work from last time and did my pap. All looks good!
Went for the ultrasound and Joe had to wait outside. She poked and proded my body for like 40 minutes without saying much. Very nerve racking! She then told me to go empty my bladder (Thank God!) so that she could get a few more pictures. She was trying to get the baby to turn so that she could measure the fluid behind the neck. It was being very stubborn, just like his momma! lol. She made me cough a few times, lay on my left, lay on my right, get up, lay back down, do the hookey pookey (just kidding, lol) and kept jabbing me with the wand. Finally it moved over enough to kind of get a side profile view. Finally she let Joe come in the room and showed us the photos. What a relief! We saw the baby's heart beating, the tiny little stomach which showed it was starting to swallow amniotic fluid, we saw the baby's brain, it's arms and legs and it's umbilical cord. They don't tell you too much but I am very relieved!
After that I went downstairs to get some blood work done to check for chromosomal abnormalities. I need to go back on the 30th to get the second part done. My next appointment with the Nurse Practinioner is May the 9th. April 18th, we have our "Education Class" at the hospital. It's going to be a busy few months!
Now, what you've all been waiting for... Our Baby :)
Looking at us! Hi Mom and Dad!
